Words in the Drawing: “I came from Indonesia. Last time, I came to Malaya together with other leprosy patients from Indonesia by boat. I was in the same boat with Ah Ngor, Siew Eng and a few male patients but I couldn’t recall their names. I was admitted in 1959. I suffered from leprosy when I was 19 years old and now I am already over 80 years old. My daughter is 30 years old and I have a son who is in his 20s. They visit me on Sundays. My husband was called “puppy”, he was a dresser when he was alive. He then suffered from illness. He suffered from bone pain. Due to severe pain, my husband eventually committed suicide by cutting his vein at the chalet. ”
