About Us
Beginning as a Chalet in the 1930s, Valley of Hope grew to become a Leprosy settlement that held over 2400 patients at its peak. Now, run by Care & Share, an NGO, they are committed to preserving the history of leprosy.
Our Mission
To reunite former leprosy patients with their separated family members
To record the experiences and life stories of the leprosy survivors, so that they are empowered with the courage to preserve their own family history
To preserve the history, culture, and heritage of the Valley of Hope to keep the collective memories of the leprosy community alive
To eradicate prejudice and discrimination towards the leprosy community and their families, so that families affected by leprosy will be liberated from unnecessary hurt
